Palm reading in Japan began in the Edo era and has since evolved to include both Eastern and Western traditions. Mak was trained in palm reading in the Japanese tradition, where the focus is on interpreting a person’s natural strengths and how they can balance life choices with fate.
The philosophy Mak was trained under emphasizes only telling people information that would be beneficial to their life. He will not inform someone if he foresees negative life events, partly because this will not help the client, and partly because these events may be a part of a person’s life path and may not be preventable.
All predictions can be altered by life choices and Mak warns that a reading should never be used as the sole reason a person makes a life decision. Readings should simply provide guidance and insight.
About Mak
At the age of 20, Makoto Maeda (call him Mak!) had his palm read by a famous palm reader in Tokyo. He told him that he would one day live across the globe - a fact that came as a complete shock to a young man from a small fishing village! Years later when the palm reader’s prediction came true, Mak began studying Eastern palm reading and started a practice of his own. He has read people from all walks of life, across the globe (including Japanese yakuza!). He’s now excited to take his practice online and help people who may have never experienced a traditional Eastern palm reading.

Mak was born in Toba, Japan and was raised in the Shinto and Buddhist traditions. From a young age, his spiritual abilities were recognized by local priests and family. After a lifetime of studying philosophy and religion, Mak has overcome the challenges of being open to the “other side” and now gives back by offering palm readings and psychic impressions.
It’s a family affair!
Mak’s native tongue is Japanese (he is still perfecting his English!) so his wife and daughters help with translating during video calls when needed.
